In search of a perfect script, part two

After trying out a BUNCH of directory scripts over the last few weeks I finally found one I like that I’ve made work with an xhtml/css layout, though I can’t say it was easy out of the box. However, it’s a great script, works with smarty templating, and the developer seems to be a good guy who is open to ideas and fixes so that the script can eventually be made xhtml/css compliant.

The script is the PHP Link Directory. It’s pretty dang feature rich and the price is right (free with linkback intact.) The forum community, though small, is pretty active and helpful.

I’ve got it set up here:
The Kickass WebGeek Resource Directory
Take it for a spin, add a link if you know a webpage that qualifies, tell me what you think. I’m still working on populating the categories, the CSS category is close to done, the others need more links added.

Also, in the near future, I plan on developing two or three templates for this directory as a gift to the community. If you like the script and want to see it skinned differently, check back in a few weeks.

Correction on my own post– The user community is helpful, the developer community leaves something to be desired. They answer enough of your questions to suck you in and THEN . . . Read my update here.
