A phpLD Tableless Template for download.
** Update ** Though I will leave this phpld template for download for those who wish to use phpLD, I will no longer be working with templating for that script. Those of you who are looking for a good, semantically coded and quality directory script with great features, I highly suggest looking at the directory scripts from Tolra Microsystems.

This tableless xhtml/css template, made to use with the php Link Directory Script, is made available for download and use under the Creative Commons License, with some rights reserved. It’s copyright2005 Kickass Web Design and is free for use providing the linkback to http://kickasswebdesign.com remains intact. For those of you who do not wish to have the word “Kickass” on your webpages, you may change the link text to “K Web Template” or simply “Web Template” as long as the link remains intact.
This template has been successfully browser tested on many computers with many different screen resolutions and in the following browsers: Windows 2k and XP- Firefox, Opera and IE6. Mac OSX- IE5+, Firefox, Safari, and Camino. Linux- Firefox and Konqueror.
The template creates almost all phpld pages to validate to xhtml 1.0 transitional with valid css. There are a couple inner pages of the script that will not validate because of unencoded characters such as ampersands which the script itself is not converting properly, and because of session IDs being passed in the URLS, which is out of the control of templating, and are validation problems generated by the script itself, out of my control, and already reported on the phpld forum bug thread as problems.
No support is offered for use of this template. However, I have included a readme.txt file with installation instructions, as well as comments throughout the stylesheet.
This xhtml/css tableless template is my gift back to the phpLD open source community for use of their script. Enjoy!
If you want something more personalized, I’d be happy to discuss creating a custom phpLD template for you. Use the link to tell me what you have in mind- two column? Three column? I’ll be happy to whip up something fabulous and unique for your exclusive use. The price is more reasonable than you think!

I’m trying to get things in order for my adult site, which is in it’s infancy. I’m interested in a custom 3 column template. Do you have any examples that I could look at?
Thanks
Max

Like the template. I may run it on my roofing site I just set up.

This is a very nice template, considering the fact that there are no tables involved. But I think the template would look better with a different color scheme. Other than that, the rest is great!

I really like the clean layout of this design. Obviously it leaves a lot of room for further customisation. I’m kind of torn between this and the current skin I’m using. Thanks for contributing.

You did it. The php tableless template is fabulous. Guess its time to start looking at it again. Any new suggestions on where to start? Oh, and I was extremely disappointed to see that the 50’s group didn’t keep your original design. Google ads? Time to exit the legal profession.
Congrats! S
