Open Source and Pimping for Dough
Okay, I’ve had it. I tried to help create a community on this open source script site, I tried to help the head script developer find new people to help write code, I tried to make it better . . . and this is what they’re back to doing:

OK i have searched the internet for 2 weeks now and am about to give up.
I need to find a way to change the size and positioning of the directory. For example as in Yahoo.com or Alibaba.com > would this be possible using php link directory.
If you can offer some help, please in layman terms, as i am totally new to CSS and PHP.
Thanks,
George

Yes, I know there are some threads here in the forums about this. You might want to look around. Unfortuantely, I have to leave for a few hours right now, but I’ll try to search the forums later and see if I can find those threads. If you wanted to make a small donation of say $25, I’m sure someone could follow your instructions to help you get the layout you seek.
If this isn’t a sure way of making sure NOBODY IS GONNA USE YOUR OPEN SOURCE SCRIPT I don’t know what is . . . And sooner or later, David, someone is gonna say FORK YOU!

How tacky. How - not - OPEN SOURCE.
These people just DO NOT GET IT. They never will…. if you can’t afford to develop open source software (which DOES of course require a lot of one’s own unpaid for blood sweat and programming tears!) then you need to go for commercial.
You canNOT pretend that a commercial project is open source all the while having your hand out for “palm-crossing”. Y’know, I never ran across pimps this outrageous when I lived and worked in Las Vegas!
Isn’t there someone to report this travesty to?

Umm. And the double-entendre is great, btw!

Yeah, I thought it particularly appropriate . . .
