Yes, I do think you're overly uptight about this. If something isn't working you simply change it and do it differently. Trial and error is the best way to get rolling.

I'd like to use tags. I'd also like to use "social" bookmarks and pinging, but I worry that if I don't have everything set up perfectly, I'll screw up my chances and not be accepted at the sites in question anymore. Do you think I'm overly uptight about this?

[...] Now, most of the sites I build are RSS enabled. RSS is fabulous for promoting your website IF you know how to use it to achieve inbound links. First of all, if your site is on blog software you can set up “pings” in your blog interface. In Wordpress this is in the admin/options/writing. You’ll see a text box near the bottom that you can use to enter the ping services you can find on the WordPress Documentation Site. When you post on your blog these services will be notified with a “ping”, and anyone subscribed to the topic you blogged about will be notified by RSS that your blog has something of interest to them. It also helps if you have submitted your blog to these sites and other RSS aggregators beforehand. There’s a great list of places to submit either your blog or your feed URL at Master New Media. Those who podcast will also want to do this, as well as submit to the more specific podcast sites. And to make these Pings more effective, use Tagging, often called Technorati Tags since Technorati came up with them as a useful tool for categorizing posts. There are Tech Tag plugins for WordPress to help with this, though you can also do it manually if you’re using ModX or another program. [...]

For some reason after last night I can not pull your web page. I was wondering if there were any hits on the open thread and if you did get my post. The one regarding the race for Cherokee County.
