For those of you who have heard of the Refresh initiative for web developers who follow W3 and WAI guidelines, you’ll be happy to know that there will be two (probably overlapping) Refresh Websites coming soon to the Western NJ and Eastern PA area. I’ve registered refreshdelval.org and refreshabe.org for the Delaware Valley PA and NJ and for the greater Allentown Bethlehem Easton area of the Lehigh Valley PA.

If you don’t know what W3 and WAI guidelines are, and you’re a web developer in the greater Delaware Valley area and want to learn more, this is the time and place.

It’ll probably take me a week or so to get both domains up and running, since I’m loaded up with paying work right now, but anyone interested in hearing about plans for the sites, meetups we hope to schedule, or to sign up for the newsletter I plan to start for both, just drop a comment here and I’ll make sure you’re in the loop.

RefreshDallas.org was the first city to join the Refresh initiative, followed rather quickly by Austin, Boston, D.C., Houston, Los Angeles, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Diego, and Seattle with more areas being added every day. I know one of my friends, Vicki Frei (aka vkaryl on WordPress Support and other messageboards) plans to start a chapter in Southern Utah, which will also be announced here when she’s up and running. There is a Google Group for general info common to all Refresh Groups, and once a site is up and running there’s a Refresh Feed.
