ICANN gives our dot coms to Verisign
If the settlement between ICANN and Verisign is approved by the Department of Commerce Verisign will have complete control over all dot coms and the ability to raise prices on them with no cost justification, and revert us to the days of the Network Solutions Domain Name Monopoly. Bob Parsons of GoDaddy, one of the top registries, had a lot to say on the matter. I urge you to read his assessment and, as he suggests, write your senators and congresspeople and let them know this deal could seriously impact small businesses and the internet in general.
