Refresh DelVal is going on ModX
Though skinning CivicSpace is actually not that hard, USING it is a COMPLETELY different story. It amazes me that this system is used by government bureacrats . . . hmm, maybe that’s not so hard to understand after all– government bureacrats are, after all, the experts at obfuscation, smoke and mirrors, and confusing rules and jargon. The normal user has to swallow a Jargon Dictionary to make heads or tails of it, and then, on the next toss, the coin lands on its edge.
So, even though their forum integration is not QUITE complete, I’ve decided to put Refresh DelVal on ModX. I swear, with the strong and wonderful community and the incredibly positive and helpful attitude of the devs, I wish I could put everything on the ModX Content Management System.
I hope to have it done in a couple days. At least I know ModX lets me work in xhtml/css and doesn’t force table code down my throat like Joomla does, or drive me nuts with clearing elements the way WordPress 2.0.x does.
Oh, just to mention it, one of the devs from ModX turned me onto the Unclassified NewsBoard Forum which is the only forum, to MY knowledge, that is xhtml/css compliant and tableless. I’ve not tried this out yet, but I will be soon.
