And &#039;puter equipment goes begging at the thrift shops, ends up getting tossed into landfills anyway, since I&#039;m in a yuppified gentrified area where everyone wants and has newer bigger best . . . Someone suggested to call Radio Shack since they do battery recycling (cellphone, computer, anything lithium or nimh.)</description>

Apropos of that:  my second machine I bought in 1987.  It was a 286 with a 40mg hdd.  Nice at the time....

Well, guess what boys and girls?  That piece of seriously antique machinery is still running part of the water company system in Mesquite NV.
