2.5Gb/s Internet For France will leave US business in the dust
As the US congress considers selling US internet network control to the highest bidder, France Telecomm is offering 2.5Gb/s Internet Connection in selected areas. This will be on a GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) FTTH architecture (Fiber To The Home), which will allow 2.5 Gbits/s download and 1.2 Gigabits/s upload. As commenters on Slashdot point out, this will give French corporations HUGE advantages over their American counterparts.
And if the US Telecomms succeed in killing Network Neutrality, we may as well be a third world country.
