Dell institutes Computer Recycling Program
Dell has instituted a very aggressive Computer Recycling Program. They will schedule pickup of any unwanted Dell computer regardless of whether you’re upgrading or not. You can schedule pickup through their website. This is VERY good news, since computers and other electronics leech out mercury, cadmium and other nasties into our groundwater supply, not to mention the sheer bulk, mostly plastic components which will not biodegrade, and other issues.
I hope others will follow suit.

I wonder how long they will do this for free. Economically they can’t do this for ever. I believe they want to show people that they care for the environment!! Well.. I have been using a local recycling company called E-tech Recycling www.etechrecycling.com. I know them personally and know they 100% recycle all parts.

Actually they can, as long as they build it into their pricing.
Re E-Tech, are you sure they’re not just shipping stuff to China and just moving the problem to a different place? That’s what most of the recyclers are doing. They skim the “cream” out of the boxes, then ship the remains to China where the Chinese people strip out more and then just unsafe-landfill them, which will eventually come back to bite us all on the butt.
