In Memory of Syd, my best friend
I will miss your tailwags, your mad dashes through the house chasing Briggsy the cat, your bad attitude, your insistence on playing frisbee everytime we went outside, your wonderfully expressive brown eyes which could call me away from whatever I was doing with the strength of your soul shining through them, your sublime sense of slapstick, your feetwarming abilities on cold nights, your intelligence, your warmth, your loyalty, and your unconditional friendship.
I am so lucky to have had you for my best friend for over 11 years. There is a hole in my heart the size of my world. I will never forget you.

I am so, so sorry to hear about this. I only met Syd once, but what a lovable, protective dog. I’m so sad for you. But I’m happy for Syd that you took such great care of her and loved her so much.

Just saw this. I am so, SO sorry to hear about Syd. I remember how adorable and friendly she was when you and I met for lunch over the summer. What a sweet, loving dog she was. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks. Briggsy the cat walked around crying for a half hour looking for her this morning. It was their usual playtime. He misses her as much as I do. The house is so quiet.

And you know that I ache for you…. such a hole is left when one’s fur-sister or -brother goes to heaven…. We’ve all been there, but it never ever gets easy - quite the opposite, I think.

I’m so sorry for your loss. At least Syd left this life with someone loving her so deeply. We should all be so fortunate.
It’s so hard to say goodbye to them.

I am so sorry for your loss. Whatever your beliefs, her life was better for having been with you and your’s enriched by the time you spent with her.
