Give your Blog a Voice
Yesterday was the RefreshDelVal Meetup, which is always a great geeky social event, where I get to interface with some incredibly intelligent and talented folks.
The great thing about this group is I always learn something. Jim brought up some great resources, the best of them being OdioGo.com, which is a free way to “give your blog a voice”. I’ve signed up to put Kickass Web News and Views into OdioGo format, so next visit look for the odiogo button and give it a spin. The only thing I don’t like about it so far is that it isn’t instant gratification, their process takes a bit of time.
Screen readers can be tricky. Jim brought up that in reading one of his pages about plug-ins for dynamic programs it pronounced it “ploogins”, so it’s not a perfect solution, but if it gets it mostly right it will help. I’ll be interested to try this and compare it to the screen reader simulators. Anything that puts this site in front of more people is a good thing, but it would be nice to know it’s being done in the best way.
