KiweeCommerce for ModX in Development
Now this IS good news! Yesterday the Alpha Release of the KiweeCommerce Ecommerce Module for ModX CMS was announced.
It’s very early days, but KiweeCommerce seems to be a working module already, though the devs say that much more needs to be done.
These are the features it’s offering so far:
- Modular payment gateway architecture, which currently supports Paypal, Google Checkout, and Authorize.Net.
- Product management tools that auto-create product page stubs
- Integrates tightly with MODx - provides configuration menus in the CMS Manager, shares MODx’s database, etc.
- Very powerful item option management
- Support for integration with external applications, such as accounting systems
- AJAX-driven configuration interface makes administration fast and intuitive
There’s already a KiweeCommerce support forum, and a fair amount of buzz about this on the ModX forum.
Currently KiwiCommerce requires php5 if you want to test drive it, which, since php4 is on its way out the door is only a problem if your hosting isn’t there yet.
KiwiCommerce Devs, THANK YOU! This is the answer to a lot of frontend designers’ prayers! Let me know when you’re a bit further along, I’d be happy to donate a spiffy new KiwiCommerce Template to the cause!
