The Illinois Center for Information Technology Accessibility has released the latest version of the FireFox Accessibility Extension Add-On. I just installed it and did a couple site evaluations. It just confirmed the fact that this site is way overdue for an overhaul, which is currently in process. My newer sites came up much better in the evaluations and only needed minor, if any, attention, mostly in the keyboard area.

The toolbar is pretty cool, it points out all things that need improvement in different areas such as navigation, text equivalents, scripting, style, keyboard, etc. and in an intuitive and simple way. They included what needed including and didn’t overly guild the lily. Very useful. For those who don’t already have a validator installed, it offers html and css validation, as well as wcag validation. It also puts the Cynthia Says and Bobby tools, as well as some others, right at your fingertips.
